Yes, if you can find a good one used. The original Aventon Sinch is a blast to ride, and I'd recommend it to anyone shopping for a fat tire folding e-bike. It has more power than a lot of the e-bikes I tested around the same time, it beat its own rated range on my test, and it folds up relatively small while still giving a full-size adult a comfortable ride. I filmed this review in April 2020. Aventon no longer sells the original Sinch. Its old product page is gone, and as of Oct 22, 2026, the current version on aventon.com is the Sinch 2.5 at $1,799, listed as sold out. Everything in this review is about the original bike I tested.

Liked
- Comes completely put together. No front wheel to install.
- Charger and a multi-tool are in the box
- Sturdy construction with premium finishes you can feel
- 750W peak motor with a ton of power, even at my 200 lbs
- 42 miles on a full charge in my testing, beating the 40 mile rating
- Removable, key-locked battery in a solid case you can carry inside
- Waterproof flap over the charge port
- Display shows everything I need
- Folds small enough for a Tesla Model 3 trunk (barely)
Didn't
- My leg hit the folding clip on the center frame a few times while riding
- The fat tires are way noisier than regular e-bike tires
- Getting it into a Model 3 trunk is tight, so I wouldn't do it every day
- You have to fold the bike to get the battery out
- Discontinued, and the current Sinch 2.5 is sold out on aventon.com
What I said about the Aventon Sinch Step-Through
A folding step-through fat-tire bike that fits a Model 3 trunk and a 6'1" rider; no lights, and discontinued.
Buy the Sinch Step-Through if you want a folding fat-tire bike that fits in a car trunk and still fits a 6'1" rider. It folded into the trunk of my Model 3, and with the seat raised it fit me fine. The 500W rear motor and 4 in tires handled dirt trails even though the tread is street tread. Skip it if you want lights out of the box. My bike had no headlight and no tail light. Also skip it if the price matters most: I tested it at $1,800 with fenders and rack extra.
