Privacy

Short version: this site doesn't set any cookies, doesn't sell or share your email, and only knows your email if you type it into a deal-alert form. Here's everything it collects.

Your email, if you sign up for deal alerts

• What's saved: your email address, the date you signed up, and which form you used (for example, a review page or the quiz). If you sign up from the e-bike quiz, your quiz answers and the bikes it matched are saved too, so updates can fit what you picked.
• What it's for: emails about real sales on bikes I've tested and new reviews. Nothing else.
• Who sees it: it's stored in a database on Cloudflare, which hosts this site. I don't sell, rent or share your email with brands, retailers or anyone else.
• Leaving: every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe, your quiz answers and matches are deleted right away. Your address is kept only marked "unsubscribed", so it's never emailed again. To have the address deleted completely, email [email protected] and ask.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies or local storage and doesn't track you across other sites. It records things like which page was viewed, the page you came from, your browser and device type, and your country. I only see totals, never who you are.

Like any website, Cloudflare also handles your IP address to deliver pages and block attacks.

Affiliate links and their cookies

Many "check price" and "buy" links go through /go/ links on this site, then on to a retailer or an affiliate network (such as Amazon, AvantLink or a bike brand's own program). The site counts those clicks by day, bike, page and spot on the page. That count has no cookies, IP address or browser details attached.

After you land on the retailer's site, the retailer or affiliate network may set cookies so a purchase can be credited to this site. Those cookies come from them, not from this site, and their privacy policies apply. You can block or clear them in your browser; prices stay the same either way. Other things that load from outside sites

• Banner images on some pages are loaded from AvantLink, an affiliate network, which can see that the image was loaded (your IP address and browser).
• Review videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube may store data once you press play.

Things this site doesn't do

• No cookies set by this site, and no ad trackers or retargeting pixels.
• No pop-ups asking for your email.
• Search runs in your browser, so what you type isn't sent anywhere.
