Scroll sideways on a phone. Rated range is the maker's claim. A dash means I couldn't verify that number. Video = when my review went up on YouTube.
Every bike on this page is one I rode and filmed myself (16 bikes, videos from 2020 to 2026). Bikes I haven't ridden are left out. The top pick for each use is the bike with the highest AEB Score in that group that you can still buy. The score comes from the specs (range, motor, brakes and build, practicality) plus the current maker price, so it's the same yardstick for every bike. Specs come from the maker's listing, checked against what I saw on the ride. Prices are from my review data; tap through for the current price. Only Aventon models I have a full video review of are on this page. More detail on how I test.
Straight from the downsides I hit in each review. If one of these is a dealbreaker for you, look at the next bike.
Aventon Soltera 3 ADV: skip it if this bothers you: Only 250W, so hills on gravel take real effort Also: No throttle
Aventon Aventure M: skip it if this bothers you: No throttle Also: Rear rack only holds about 59 lb
Aventon Abound LR: skip it if this bothers you: I could only find forward and back handlebar adjustment (Aventon lists an adjustable quill stem) Also: No rear suspension, only the seat post
Aventon Aventure 3: skip it if this bothers you: Turn signals feel a bit gimmicky, and I couldn't find a hazard mode Also: I'd like larger palm-rest grips (an easy swap)
Aventon Level 3: skip it if this bothers you: Cheaper hand grips without the elongated shape I like Also: Same cheap kickstand as the last Level
Aventon Abound SR: skip it if this bothers you: Plastic pedals Also: Unusual charger plug, so you'll need Aventon's charger
Aventon Pace 500.3: skip it if this bothers you: No suspension; you feel the bumps off pavement Also: Fenders aren't standard
Aventon Ramblas: skip it if this bothers you: Hardtail only, no rear suspension Also: Headlight is optional (I didn't install it)
Aventon Soltera 2: skip it if this bothers you: No suspension; just okay on gravel Also: Regular disc brakes, not hydraulic
Aventon Abound: skip it if this bothers you: No chain slap guard; my frame got scratched during testing Also: Headlight sits under the front basket, which I found less visible than mounting it on the basket
Aventon Level.2: skip it if this bothers you: Pretty heavy, especially next to the Soltera Also: No bell on the handlebars
Aventon Sinch Step-Through: skip it if this bothers you: No lights on test bike Also: Fenders/rack extra
Aventon Soltera (1st gen): skip it if this bothers you: Rim brakes, not disc brakes Also: No front fork and no shock absorbers
Aventon Level Step-Through (1st gen): skip it if this bothers you: No integrated headlight or tail light Also: Getting the battery out means moving the front wheel out of the way, and putting it back in is a bit harder
Aventon Aventure (1st gen): skip it if this bothers you: About $1,900, the one bad thing in my opinion Also: 73 lb, though it doesn't ride that heavy
Aventon Sinch: skip it if this bothers you: My leg hit the folding clip on the center frame a few times while riding Also: The fat tires are way noisier than regular e-bike tires
