Short verdict: The Wild Badger kit is a light-duty pair of tools, and it’s honest about it. The trimmer is very light, telescopes to fit your height, feeds its own line, and flips over to edge a sidewalk with a guide wheel, which made edging close to foolproof. The blower is not a leaf blower. It clears dust, dirt and grass clippings off a patio or out of a garage. For an older homeowner, or anyone who just needs to tidy the edges of a small yard, this is good value. If you need to cut through brush or blow fall leaves, skip it. As of October 26, 2026, the Amazon listing my video links to shows $114.45, 12% below its list price.
How I tested it
My video is from July 2023, when the kit was $100 on Amazon. I unboxed it, trimmed along the edge of my yard and into a concrete corner, flipped the head to edge along a sidewalk, and used the blower to clear grass clippings and small debris off our patio.
The video doesn’t say whether I bought the kit or Wild Badger sent it. The description link is an Amazon affiliate link.
What I didn’t do: I didn’t time the batteries, weigh the tools, or try it on thick brush or a pile of leaves beyond a quick look. The specs come from the Amazon listing, not my measurements.

More in the box than I expected
There are two batteries, one for the trimmer and one for the blower. They’re the same battery, so either works in either tool. That means you can run the trimmer on one and keep the other as a spare if you’re not using the blower.
With its pole collapsed, the trimmer is about the same size as the blower. That makes the kit easy to store. The pole extends when you need it.
The trimmer
There’s a safety switch on the handle. You push it in before the trigger works. The trigger is not a throttle. It’s either on or off, with no variable speed.
There’s an adjustment at the head that tilts it to an angle. That makes normal trimming easier, and it’s separate from the edging flip I’ll get to below.
Using it couldn’t be simpler: pull the trigger and go. It’s a single line that feeds automatically. There’s no bumping the head on the ground to let out more string.
The guard is fairly large, and it made one concrete corner tight. I switched hands and got the grass in that corner. That’s a small thing, but you’ll notice it in tight spots.
This is not a powerful trimmer. If you need a brush cutter to take down overgrown weeds, this isn’t it. It’s built for residential trimming: cleaning up grass along the yard’s edge, light edging, and light weed work around garden beds and trees. It’s very light, and because the pole telescopes, almost anyone can set it to a comfortable length. I think it’s a great fit for older homeowners or anyone who doesn’t want to haul a heavy tool around.
Edging was the best part
There’s a button on top that rotates the head 180 degrees, so the line spins vertically. The guard has a small wheel, and you roll that wheel along the driveway or sidewalk. It cut a clean edge along my sidewalk, and the wheel made it close to foolproof. You don’t have to hold the line steady by eye.
Honestly, I’d have said the trimmer alone was worth the $100 it cost on Amazon in 2023. The blower made it a better deal.
The blower is not a leaf blower
This is the most important thing to understand before you buy. I’d call this a crumb, dust and dirt blower. On my patio it moved grass clippings and small debris well. It’ll blow out a garage or clear a walkway after you trim.
It is not a replacement for a real leaf blower. I still use a Toro leaf blower, which is a beast by comparison. If you’re expecting to clear fall leaves off a lawn with this one, you’ll be disappointed. For clippings off a sidewalk after mowing, it’s completely fine.
How it compares
Neither of these was tested against the Wild Badger. They’re what you’d step up to if you need more trimmer.

The EGO and Toro are real trimmers with more cutting width and speed control, but each costs more by itself than the whole Wild Badger kit. If your yard has thick weeds or a long fence line, they’re worth it. For a small yard where you mostly tidy edges, the Wild Badger plus its blower is the cheaper route. If you also need to move leaves, budget for a real leaf blower. Toro’s 60V 51820 was $239.99 on toro.com as of October 26, 2026.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Very light, with a telescoping pole for different heights
- Automatic line feed, no bumping
- Flip-over head with a guide wheel makes edging nearly foolproof
- Two interchangeable batteries in the box
- Compact to store
- $114.45 for the kit as of Oct 26, 2026
Cons
- Low power: not for brush or thick weeds
- On/off trigger with no speed control
- Large guard is tight in concrete corners
- Blower is for dust and clippings, not leaves
Who should buy it, and who should skip it
Buy it if you have a small yard and mostly need to trim edges, edge a sidewalk and blow clippings off the patio. It’s also a good choice if you want tools that are light and easy for an older person to handle.
Skip it if you need to cut through brush or overgrown weeds, you have a big property, or you want to clear fall leaves. Get a full-size trimmer and a real leaf blower.
FAQ
Can it edge? Yes. A button rotates the head 180 degrees, and you roll the guard’s wheel along the sidewalk or driveway. It cut a clean edge for me.
Does it feed line automatically? Yes. It’s a single line that feeds automatically. I never had to bump it.
Can the blower do leaves? Not really. It handled grass clippings, dust and small debris on my patio. It isn’t a leaf blower.
Are the batteries interchangeable? Yes. Both batteries are the same and fit either tool.
Is the trigger variable speed? No. It’s on or off.
Has it been recalled? I found no CPSC recall for Wild Badger as of October 26, 2026.
Why this review stops here
My video is a short first look: one round of trimming, one sidewalk edge and one patio cleanup. I didn’t time batteries or test it for a full season.
