Short verdict: This is a first look, not a mowing review. I unboxed Toro’s 60V Super Recycler in October 2022 and hadn’t cut grass with it yet. Next to the cheaper Toro 60V Recycler I’d been using, it has a metal deck instead of plastic parts, a smoother battery compartment, headlights and Auto and Max modes. It still takes only one battery. Two things confused me on day one: I couldn’t find a switch for the headlights, and I couldn’t figure out how to remove the plug where the bag goes. As of October 26, 2026, Toro lists the 60V Super Recycler with headlights (21568) at $899.00 and the version without headlights (21566) at $799.00, each with a 7.5Ah battery.

What this page is

My video is a short unboxing from October 2022. I didn’t mow with it in that video, so I can’t tell you how it cuts, bags or mulches, or how long the battery lasts. The video doesn’t say whether I bought it or Toro sent it. It does include Amazon affiliate links, so I may earn a commission if you buy through my links on this site.

The video doesn’t give a model number. Mine had headlights, which matches Toro’s current 21568. The video description called it the newest and most expensive mower in Toro’s electric push lineup at the time.

Specs are from Toro’s product page, checked October 26, 2026. My observations are from the unboxing only.

Unboxing

Some assembly was required, but not much. The handlebars go on with plastic nuts, one on each side. The key was in the same bag.

The first thing I noticed was the deck. I said it’s all metal, where the cheaper Toro Recycler I’d been using had some plastic parts in it. Toro lists the Super Recycler’s current deck as aluminum. (The cheaper Recycler’s deck itself is steel; the plastic I meant was elsewhere on that mower.)

Controls and drive

There are Auto and Max modes. I said I’d show them in a later video. It still has Personal Pace auto drive, like the cheaper model, so the mower matches your walking speed.

The battery compartment

The battery compartment is a little different. The lid rises slowly and smoothly when you open it, which feels premium. It still holds only one battery. Toro’s current listing comes with a 7.5Ah L405 battery and claims up to 50 minutes of mowing.

Headlights I couldn’t turn on

It has headlights, but I couldn’t figure out how to turn them on. I didn’t see a separate control anywhere. I said I’d cover it in the full review.

The bag plug

Where the bag goes, the older mower had a lever. This one has a plug that locks in place. I couldn’t work out how to get it out, and I didn’t want to break it, so I left it in.

I like the simple lever on the cheaper model better. On the other hand, this setup looked like it might clog less. On the cheaper mower, clippings would sometimes clump in the bag, so I expected the bag on this model to work better. I said I’d test that later.

Pros and cons (from the unboxing)

Pros

Cons

Who should consider it, and who should wait

Consider it if you want Toro’s top 60V push mower with a metal deck and you already use Toro 60V batteries.

Wait if you want a tested mowing verdict. I didn’t mow with it in this video. The cheaper Toro Recycler and the EGO, which I did mow with, have full reviews here.

FAQ

Did you mow with the Toro Super Recycler? Not in this video. It’s an unboxing and first look.

Is the deck metal? Yes. It’s all metal, and Toro lists it as aluminum.

How do you turn on the headlights? I couldn’t find a separate switch during the unboxing.

How many batteries does it take? One. Toro’s current listing comes with a 7.5Ah battery.

How much is it now? As of October 26, 2026, Toro lists the 21568 with headlights at $899.00 and the 21566 at $799.00.

Has it been recalled? I found no recall for the 60V Super Recycler on CPSC’s recall search or Toro’s recall page as of October 26, 2026.

Why this review stops here

This is an unboxing. I didn’t mow, bag, mulch or run the battery down, and I didn’t show the headlights or the modes working.
