License / registrationRequired for low-speed e-bikes and motorized bicycles: register with the MVC and hold a driver's license or MVC motorized-bicycle license (riders 15 to 16 need the motorized-bicycle license or permit). The act took effect on signing and gave existing riders six months to register and get licensed. Renters of city-contracted share bikes don't need a license (P.L.2025 c.285).
